
Traditional Bulgarian singer Violeta Marinova was born in the village of Sbor, Pazardzhik region. In 1982 the young singer joined the premier Filip Kutev State Ensemble for Folk Music and Dance. Since 1984 and to present day Marinova has been a member and soloist of the world-renowned Bulgarian National Radio and TV Female Folk Choir (aka Mystery of Bulgarian Voices). A masterful performer, especially of songs from her native Pazardzhik region, Violeta has numerous recordings in the Golden Fond of Bulgarian National Radio, and for films on Bulgarian National TV. Her solo performances are featured on Marcel Cellier’s Mystery of Bulgarian Voices albums. In 2010 Marinova released a solo disk of folk songs from the Pazardzhik region. Viloleta Marinova continues to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. In 2011, together with Olga Borisova, Daniel Spasov, Milen Ivanov and Stanimir Ivanov – called together Voices from Infinity – Marinova sang at the opening of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London. In 2018-2019 Violeta toured with Lisa Gerrard and Mystery of Bulgarian Voices choir presenting their collaborative album BooCheeMish.
